Celebrating 50 years since Glenalvon house was opened for public access.       

Any members who were present on 11th April 1970 are welcome to attend.

Displays at Glenalvon House:


February 2020

 Exhibition featuring Tom Bass: Tom’s time in Minto, and the making of the statue of Mrs Elizabeth Campbell Macquarie.  A maquette of the statue is on display in the hall. Display of vintage garments and embroidered items.


March 2020

 May Clissold: Exhibition of garments made by local dressmaker May Clissold, including wedding dresses, on loan from various ladies.
Please visit Glenalvon on one of our Open Days to support the volunteers who work so hard to keep Glenalvon open.

Beginners Course    Campbelltown Library, Meeting Room 1    Arrive by 10.45am.   

Course duration: 11.00am to 3.30 pm.    Cost: $10.00

Launch of the next Grist Mills    "Dancing in Perfect Harmony: A story of Deb Balls, Dressmaking and brilliant photography"       

by Julie Crowley.    A social event at Glenalvon. Time: 10.30 am.   

With morning tea and a costume display to follow.

* Tuesday 4th February - Morning tea and tour for 21 visitors.


Glenalvon is a classic sandstone town house dating from 1830. On open mornings the property is open from 10am to 1pm and activities include tours of the house, heritage gardens, buildings and the Rural exhibition centre.
